Movement is medicine. We use it wisely.

At most general practices, rehabilitation is an afterthought (if it’s offered at all). At Memorial Villages Animal Hospital, it’s built into the way we care. By offering specialty-level rehab in-house, we create more consistent treatment plans, fewer outside referrals, and a more affordable path to healing.

Rehabilitation isn’t just for pets who are recovering. It’s also for those who are aging, slowing down, or living with pain that’s hard to spot. And for active pets—like working dogs, sport dogs, and show dogs—it’s a way to stay strong, balanced, and injury-free in the long run.

Already have a primary vet? No problem. We offer rehabilitation services as a standalone option as well as to our longtime MVAH clients. Our approach is designed to help your pet move better, hurt less, and thrive longer.
A slender dog with a blue collar stands on its hind legs with its front paws on a pink exercise ball, looking up at a person who is offering it a treat. A white dog with pointed ears stands in clear blue water, looking slightly to the side. The background shows part of a metal tub, suggesting the dog is being bathed or is in a grooming area.

Rehabilitation that’s already in motion

Our full facility may still be under construction, but many of our rehabilitation services are already available in-house. Each treatment plan is tailored to your pet’s condition, comfort level, and long-term goals. These therapies are safe, effective, and thoughtfully designed for both dogs and cats, because every pet deserves to feel strong in their body.

Mobility & pain assessment Mobility & pain assessment
A hands-on evaluation of how your pet moves, where they hurt, and what they need to heal—used to build a targeted treatment plan.
LASER therapy LASER therapy
Pain-free light therapy that reduces inflammation, encourages tissue repair, and improves comfort in joints, muscles, and soft tissue.
Shockwave therapy Shockwave therapy
High-energy soundwave treatment for orthopedic pain, chronic inflammation, and injury recovery.
Exercise therapy & at-home plans Exercise therapy & at-home plans

A beagle lies on its side on a blue mat while a person gently massages or examines the dog's back with both hands. A happy corgi dog wearing beige goggles sits indoors, looking at the camera with its mouth open and tongue slightly out. A black and white cat is held gently by two people while another person uses a handheld laser therapy device on its back. The cat looks up with wide eyes. A white and orange cat lies on a gray patterned blanket while a person's hands gently pet its back. The cat looks relaxed and calm. A person administers an injection under the skin of a dog's front leg while the dog lies on a blue mat. A smiling woman gently holds a happy brown and white dog, possibly at a veterinary clinic or animal care facility. A wet black poodle with curly fur stands in a shallow pool of water, looking slightly to the side. The dog wears a red collar and its fur is soaked, with some reflected light on the water’s surface.

Frequently asked questions

No referral needed. We offer rehabilitation services to both existing clients and pet owners visiting us just for rehab. Whether your pet needs short-term recovery support or long-term mobility care, you’re welcome here.
We work with both dogs and cats. Many of our therapies—like LASER, acupuncture, chiropractic care, and mobility planning—are especially beneficial for cats living with arthritis, chronic pain, or age-related mobility issues.
We help pets recovering from orthopedic surgery or injury—including TPLO procedures—manage chronic pain, or adjust to age-related changes in movement. We also support active pets, such as working, sport, or show dogs, with injury prevention, strength-building, and conditioning.
In most cases, yes. We want your pet to feel safe and supported—and some do best with their person nearby. If a particular therapy is more effective or safer without a parent present, we’ll let you know and talk through the why.
If your pet is limping, slowing down, having trouble with stairs or jumping, or seems less steady than usual, rehab may help. You’re always welcome to book a mobility and pain assessment—we’ll talk through what’s going on and whether treatment makes sense.
Not always—but it can complement them. In some cases, rehabilitation can delay the need for surgery or reduce reliance on medication. We’ll work with you to build a plan that fits your pet’s needs and your goals.
Treatment plans are individualized, and costs vary depending on your pet’s condition and which therapies are recommended. We’ll walk you through expected pricing during your initial assessment so you can make an informed decision without pressure.
We’re located in Houston, Texas, and proudly serve pet owners throughout the Memorial Villages, Spring Branch, Galleria, and surrounding areas.
